Delft Solar Team reveals solarcar for its debut in the American Solar Challenge

Every component of the reigning world champion Nuna 13 has been optimized for American conditions. The team is making significant strides in aerodynamics. Whereas last year’s Nuna 13 featured two fins, the Nuna 13S will have three. Early in the year, the team conducted extensive wind tunnel testing on various fin shapes and configurations. “This allows us, for the first time, to truly compare how each configuration affects the airflow around the car,” says Isabeau Hendrickx, the team’s Aerodynamic Engineer. “Now we know for sure that we’re heading to America with the optimal configuration.”
