Nuna 13S
Across eight demanding days and more than 4,000 kilometers, the Delft Solar Team took on the Electrek American Solar Challenge for the very first time. Driven by smart strategy and relentless energy management, Nuna 13S pushed through some of the toughest conditions the team has ever faced. A U.S. debut the whole team can be proud of.
The race tested the team from the very first day. The sun barely broke through all week, forcing long stretches on battery power alone, while heavy rain at times limited the driver's visibility. Temperatures soared past 40°C, with humidity climbing as high as 94 percent.
Strict U.S. traffic regulations added an extra layer of challenge, with penalties for infractions directly affecting the standings, a sharp contrast to the open roads of previous races. It called for precise driving and constant tactical adjustments from the whole team.
Adapted from Nuna 13, Nuna 13S proved its strength across the full eight days of racing. After a close, hard-fought battle down to the very last day, the team secured second place in its American debut.
